1944. These two sailors served together nearly all of the ship's life.
Mr. Dixon helped commission the BUSH having reported aboard May 10, 1943. He was assigned to her through her loss on April 6, 1945. Mr. White came aboard 18 days after Mr. Dixon and also was there on the day the BUSH succumbed to Japanese suicide planes. Both survived, though Mr. White was wounded.
